Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use MindNote.
MindNote is operated by Yahaya Fofana.
1. Information You Add to MindNote
MindNote allows you to create personal entries and memories, which may include:
- Written journal content
- Photos and videos
- Locations
- Calendar events and itinerary details
- Titles, dates, tags, chapters, and other organizational information
- Content you choose to share through the Messages Extension
Your content is used to provide the Service, display your memories, organize entries, and enable features you request.
2. Photos, Videos, and Media
MindNote requests access to your photo library only when you choose to add photos or videos to a journal entry.
Selected media may be stored locally on your device so it remains available inside the app. If iCloud or CloudKit synchronization is enabled, your data and associated media may also be synchronized through Apple’s services using your Apple account.
We do not sell your photos, videos, or personal journal content.
3. Calendar and Itinerary Information
If you grant calendar access, MindNote may access calendar events that you choose to use for context or itinerary features.
Calendar information is used only to display relevant dates, event titles, times, locations, and notes within the app. We do not sell calendar information or use it for advertising.
You can revoke calendar access at any time through your device’s Settings app.
4. Messages Extension
MindNote includes an optional Messages Extension that allows you to share selected journal memories in Messages.
The extension only accesses and shares content when you intentionally choose to use it. Shared content is sent through Apple Messages according to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
MindNote may use an App Group to transfer selected content securely between the main MindNote app and the Messages Extension on your device.
5. Notifications
If you enable reminders, MindNote may request permission to send local notifications, such as daily journaling reminders or memory reminders.
Notification preferences and reminder times are stored on your device. You can disable notifications at any time through the app or your device settings.
6. Information We Do Not Collect
Unless specifically stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not:
- Sell your personal information
- Rent your personal information
- Use your journal entries for advertising
- Read or review your private journal content
- Track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites
- Use your journal content to train artificial intelligence models
- Collect precise location information in the background
- Collect contacts, messages, or microphone recordings without your explicit action
7. Analytics and Tracking
MindNote does not use third-party advertising trackers.
If we add analytics or other measurement services in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before those services are introduced and, where required, request your permission.
8. iCloud and CloudKit
If synchronization is enabled, MindNote may use Apple’s CloudKit services to store and synchronize your journal data across your Apple devices.
Apple processes this information according to Apple’s privacy policy and your iCloud settings. MindNote does not receive your Apple ID password or store a separate copy of your Apple account credentials.
You can manage iCloud and CloudKit access through your device settings.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains available until you delete it, uninstall the app, remove it from your synced devices, or request deletion where applicable.
You can delete individual entries or use the app’s delete-all-data feature. Locally stored media may also be removed when its associated entry is deleted.
To request assistance with data deletion, contact us at:

10. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information processed by MindNote. Local data is protected by the security features of your device and operating system. Data synchronized through iCloud or CloudKit is protected by Apple’s security systems.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Children’s Privacy
MindNote is not directed toward children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
MindNote is a local-first app and does not create user accounts or maintain a separate server-side profile for you. Your entries remain under your control on your device unless you choose to sync them using Apple services.
12. Third-Party Services
MindNote may rely on services provided by Apple, including:
- iCloud and CloudKit
- Photos and PhotosPicker
- EventKit and Apple Calendar
- Apple Push Notification services
- Messages and iMessage
These services are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
13. International Users
Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country where you live, depending on the services used to operate MindNote.
By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
